Mechanical microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, is a non-invasive, non-surgical, and non-ablative skin rejuvenation technique that involves the use of a micro-needle device to create controlled micro-perforations that induce skin regeneration by activating the skin’s natural repair systems.

Each puncture of the skin creates microscopic channels or micro-injuries, which stimulate collagen and elastin production in the papillary layer of the dermis and the formation of new capillaries. The process of neovascularization (the natural formation of new blood vessels) and neocollagenesis (the formation of new collagen) after the microneedling treatment reduces scars and rejuvenates the skin, i.e. improves the skin’s structure, firmness, and hydration.

Skin micro puncturing is effectively used for the reduction of scars (including hypertrophic scars) caused by acne, surgery, or thermal burns, lightening stretch marks, reducing fine and deep wrinkles, melasma discoloration, firming flaccid skin.
